Sanitation

The Cantonment Board, as one of its basic municipal functions, renders sanitary services to the Cantonment civil population with high priority. Sanitation in civil areas and certain specific sanitary services rendered for the troops in various unit lines is provided by Cantonment Board. Board maintains 14 blocks of group latrines with 135 seats. 10 blocks of Sulabh Shauchalaya and 6 group latrines constructed by NEDA with 280 seats are existing . All the group latrines are water borne. Adequate rubbish bins and modified urinals are constructed in order to ensure best of sanitary services. For sanitary purpose 1 Sanitary Supdt., 2 Sanitary Inspectors, 12 Sanitary supervisors, 284 safaiwalas and 13 drivers are employed. Board also maintains 6 trucks for rubbish, one night soil tanker, one tractor and one truck fitted with water tanker. The Board aims towards mechanization of sanitary services and is in the process of purchasing a fleet of dumper placers for the same.
